FINALly done.
final series.
(our choice.)
i chose to take portraits of my family in their natural environment.
i got a new diana+ camera and wanted to try it out.

megan sometimes needs time to relax.

…and i am nervous about the future.
(i wanted my picture to be different. i’m graduating December 17, 2007. As excited as I am about graduation, it’s scary. I’m going to be in the real world. Get a real job. I like the fact that the picture in the polaroid isn’t quite in focus either because I’ll be one of the many out there after graduation. One of the many that’s looking for a job. Trying to get recognized. It’s a big world out there. And I will soon be jumping into it.)

experiments gone right.
experimentation.
the choice was up to us.
destroy. burn. scratch. cut&paste. etc.
1. i burned the negative with a lighter.
2. put the paper under glass.
3. splashed water on the glass.

all hands on deck.
1. i scratched the negative by stepping on it.
2. printed it.
3. then splashed the paper with developer.

i got my sunglasses and the radio on.

lookin’ back.
childhood memories.
when i was younger my mom would make us eat our peas before we could get dessert.
my sister and i hated them.
one night at dinner we realized there was a vent between our chairs.
so, yes.
bye bye peas! hello dessert!
and of course i couldn’t go anywhere without my cabbage patch, nancy.
she went anywhere and everywhere with me.
i’ve had her since age 2.
and she still sleeps with me.

there’s a first time for everything.
Hey guys.
It’s about time I show some of my work online.
I’m working on a series for my advanced photo class.
After living in a smaller town my whole life, I finally moved downtown.
Sometimes, things aren’t always nice and pretty. Some are overlooked. And some are just odd.
It’s entitled “Home, Sweet Home”.
Hope you enjoy!
